Andrea ------------------------------------------------ Job Description This position is responsible for daily activities necessary to support UNIX/Linux users, servers and the network as well as analysis, design, implementation, support, and troubleshooting of the Engineering UNIX/Linux environment. . Provide systems engineering support on major projects, upgrades, installations . Perform daily UNIX/Linux system administration duties and maintenance for user account management, LDAP, DNS, NTP, monitoring, etc. . Bring a security aware focus to daily tasks to help harden and enhance security configurations to implement company security policy. . Respond to security vulnerability alerts and address support security penetration testing with rapid response to findings in an appropriate fashion. . Perform daily Storage Platform administration and maintenance (NetApp, Isilon, EMC) . Plan, implement, and support changes to the UNIX/Linux Systems / network environment . Collaborate with user support to provide Level II and III troubleshooting in support of technical solutions . Provide detailed documentation and procedures for all solutions . Provide analysis and design for IT business requirements . Develop and maintain IT liaison relationship with functional departments and key users . Develop and maintain relationships with technology vendors to meet business needs . Monitor UNIX/Linux server assets and system resources ( Memory, CPU utilization, disk capacity, etc) . Perform network system administration duties . Upgrade and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux hardware and Operating software . Manage UNIX/Linux hardware and software support agreements with the vendors .
