Hey guys, Just hoping people will send me pointers to any IT / Sysadmin positions they come across that might be relevant. Been working at an unnamed government department for the last 6 months, and it's really not working out lately. Not only is it not taking my career in a direction I want, they have let go almost half of the IT contractors (while the full-timers are goofing off, on leave, etc.) during the busiest part of the year. As a result, the physical demands of my job (which I have been coping with OK) have more than doubled. I have also lost all faith in the IT organization itself as well as the culture. In a nutshell, if you are a unilingual IT consultant, your perceived value is somewhere between that of the parking lot administrator and the cleaning staff. On a good day. At any rate, I think it is time for a change. I have grown as much as this environment will allow me to grow (which was not much), and it is time for me to move on while I still have my health and sanity. Again, any pointers appreciated. -Kelly
