First, for those interested in the practical exercise and who have a
laptop to bring, I'm thinking of devoting the second half of the
meeting to the practical exercise so that anyone who wants to be there
but not participate can leave early.

For those who wish to participate, rather than follow along as I go
through it, what I expect you to have is:

Virtualbox for your platform of choice

A CentOS 5.4 DVD image (iso file)

We'll go through the whole install and package setup during the
meeting, and possible be able to get the mail system configured in
about an hour. Don't burn the image to a DVD, it's much faster mounted
as an image. This may seem trite, but personal experience has shown
that no matter how much you expect to get the basics done in advance,
the time manages to vanish. We'll have some DIY bits (Apache, MySQL,
CMS, etc.) before the next meeting and then we'll test it out at the
April meeting. We will go on to some more advanced configurations after
that.

Second, I will be posting this on the website after I get the new one
up. It's still on track for the weekend. I had just realized that while
I'm doing this, I can retire the old box as well, so I have a 4u
rackable system available for anyone who wants it (the drives will be
wiped):

Dual PII-450 processors

1GB RAM

Hardware RAID (Mirroring) up to 80GB IDE drives, I'll even
provide a pair of matched 40GB drives. The current one is a 20 and the
matched drive failed. Attempts to locate a suitable replacement have
been futile.

It has been running the website and mail services for more years than I
care to think about and I plan on replacing it with a new(er) 1U box.
It had 12 domains running on it at one point, along with related
services, so it can handle the requirements for a small business or
some such thing.
